NEW YORK STATE JUDO INC. is a 501 C3 registered charity helping disadvantaged communities reach their full potential in the sport of Judo, education and health. We do this in New York State and wish to expand further.
Our Mission
We are committed to using Judo as a tool to develop disadvantaged and vulnerable youth. We do this by:
Using direct sports coaching – for its health benefits, improved emotional well-being and increased life skills (teamwork, leadership, decision making, communication).
Using sport to discuss critical issues – by delivering curriculums in a fun and interactive manner on the sports field.
Using Judo for improved education – by providing pathways to success for talented and dedicated individuals through scholarships to top local schools and Colleges
Coaching
Earning the designation of Professional Judo Coach is a rewarding experience. During the process of becoming certified, you will gain knowledge and experience which will be valuable to you and to your athletes. USA Judo Coach Certifications signify exceptional competence and credibility and identify you as a professional instructor. You are a part of a distinguished group of coaches certified by the United States Olympic Committees NGB, USA Judo.

WHY JUDO
Too many children are growing up without PE or other athletics.
Children need at least an hour a day of moderate physical activity most days of the week.
They need more than one or two options available so they can find an activity that's engaging.
Why is this important for them and for the good of us all?
Getting into the habit of being active means better lifelong health and improved academic performance.
It means reducing the high costs of youth misconduct and obesity.
Money is the biggest deciding factor in whether young kids join in youth sports.
Sports participation is lowest in households with low incomes.
